Collection: Quilting & Sewing Threads

Aurifil has become a favorite among quilters and stitchers for good reason: it's made from long-staple, 100% Egyptian cotton, spun in Italy, and known for being smooth, strong, and virtually lint-free. Whatever you're working on, there's an Aurifil weight built for it.

Not sure which one you need? Here's a quick guide:

50wt — the everyday workhorse. Fine and versatile, this is the go-to weight for machine piecing and quilting. If you only keep one weight of Aurifil on your shelf, this is usually it.

80wt — for when you want your stitches to disappear. The finest weight Aurifil makes, ideal for English Paper Piecing, hand appliqué, and as a lightweight bobbin thread for machine embroidery.

40wt — for stitches that show, on purpose. Slightly thicker than 50wt, giving more definition in quilting and machine embroidery.

28wt — bold and textural. A favorite for hand quilting, appliqué, and topstitching where you want the stitch itself to be part of the design.

12wt — the boldest of all. Perfect for big-stitch hand quilting, sashiko, and redwork.
